AstraZeneca has one of their offices near Luton airport.
If you were in one of the meeting rooms, and planes were taking off towards the building, you would sometimes see unsuspecting meeting attendees throw themselves on the floor in terror.
Livened up many meetings there.

Agreed. I went out with a girl from Harpenden,we spent a lot of time there and in St Albans. Studham,Kensworth and Markyate are all lovely places just 20 mins from Bury Park. Fkitwick and Harlington also very nice.
Not been to the town centre since i left the area in 2001 tho i go to Dunstable from here (Wokingham) to see my grandkids every other week.

Seems like a lifetime ago that Dan Potts started out in our first team but he's still only 27. Would be great to see him get a chance in the Premier league

There are some lovely villages around there. I lived in Harpenden for 28 years and love the area.
Agree that Luton isn't the best place but don't think we are In a position to crow.

I do look out for their results for the reason you stated. I liked them all apart from Eliot Lee who was while here very up himself.

Fella I used to do the England games with big Leeds fan got fed up with the travelling to Yorkshire so fucked it off to follow Luton Town... bloke is a fucking lunatic one of the toughest bastards I have known... well in with the Migs... normally see him out and about a couple of times a year and he normally fills me in with what shenigans he's been up to... how he has not done any bird I will never know

Remarkable considering they were non league less than ten years ago. How have they done it? Big influx of cash or just well run? Would be quite fun to see them in the premier league, although Kenilworth road is a complete and utter shithole.

They were my local team growing up so I have always looked for their results. My son's godmother runs the Bricklayer's Arms which is one hell of a good pub in High Town Luton. One of the last proper boozers left amongst a sea of mosques and kebab shops.
Nathan Jones and a number of good managers before him have risen Luton from the ashes. COYH

I remember that too as I have family in Southend and as a kid there were loads of ex-West Ham players who ended up there and at Orient. My cousin was best pal to Tommy Taylor who was often around at my mum and dad's.
Thank fuck for Persil (of all strange things) having vouchers that knocked a fuck load off of train travel which meant that I could start to go to away games when I was about 15 when I left school without taking any GCSE or A levels and worked in a builders merchants for £25 a week.
The country was in decline for white working class kids (but when hasn't it been?) But I remember those days fondly.

Chim - Nice story about Mooro.
I went to watch Dagenham Vs Wrexham a couple of years ago, to be honest it was quite boring, but the abuse the ref was getting, which he was hearing very clearly, was fucking hilarious.

i like doing this occasionally with non - premier clubs, QPR, Fulham, Charlton.
Lovely walk from Putney station along the river to Craven Cottage.

When I was a kid and West Ham were away the done thing was to go and watch Orient at home.
In fact it was the only time I ever saw Bobby Moore play when the Os played Fulham.
It still strikes me as strange that they seem to hate us so much as their attendance literally doubled every other Saturday!

It's not an option for me, but if at a loose end on a Saturday and it's not a beef to get in I wouldn't have a problem to go and watch a game at somewhere like Luton, QPR, Wimbledon, Southend, Orient, Fulham etc.
Do many actually do this? Probably not.
